Bruins provide update on David Krejci’s status after injury

Boston Bruins fans have received an injury update on forward David Krejci, but it’s probably not what they wanted to hear.

Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery gave the latest on Krejci after Boston’s practice on Monday.

“Krejci will travel with us, he’s out (Tuesday) night, probably Thursday as well,” Montgomery said, per Ty Anderson of 98.5 The Sports Hub.

While the news is certainly not positive, Krejci traveling with Boston is a step in the right direction. The striker did not travel to Columbus on Thursday after him he suffered an upper body injury in a win over the Detroit Red Wings, taking a high stick by Michael Rasmussen’s head. Rasmussen was suspended by the NHL for success

Montgomery ruled the veteran out for the start of the Bruins’ upcoming three-game road trip, but apparently left the door open for a possible return toward the end. The 36-year-old has two goals and eight points in eight games this season, centering Boston’s most efficient offensive line to this point in its 8-1 start.

The Bruins will look to get things going when they take on the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday at PPG Paints Arena. The record release is scheduled for 8:00 PM ET.
