A college football mascot has been suspended for his behavior over the weekend.
The Stanford Tree mascot announced Sunday night that he has been suspended for his behavior at the weekend’s football game.
“Stanford has decided to suspend the Tree for taking the field at the last game with a sign that says ‘Stanford Hates Fun’. The tree’s social media will be inactive for the next few months. See you soon,” announced the pet
Stanford lost to UCLA on Saturday, 38-13.
Another pet will take its place now.
“Hi, the previous tree (#43) here. Some of you have asked, so I’ll clear it up [Stanford band] management made this decision according to established band policy. But don’t worry, I’ll be coming out of retirement until #44 comes back in the winter,” reads a follow-up tweet.
Stanford will host Washington State on Saturday.
