Micah Parsons scored his first career touchdown on Sunday, returning a fumble 36 yards to help cowboys roll over bears in Week 7. Now he wants to taste the end zone again, this time on offense. Addressing journalists after the game, the second-year linebacker suggested he deserved some offensive plays moving forward, even suggesting a “red zone package” with the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year as the ball carrier.

“Zeke (Ezekiel Elliott) said I look like him,” Parsons said of his return to TD. “I think I definitely deserve a rep now. They can’t say they haven’t seen it in a game. So I’m hoping they throw me in a goal line package or a red zone package.”

While Parsons made the comment in jest, it stems from a serious desire to play both sides of the ball. Or at least that’s what coach Mike McCarthy alluded to when he addressed the linebacker’s TD later Sunday.

“I was obviously very excited,” McCarthy said. “But part of me is upset because he wants to be on the attack already. Now I’m going to have a hard time keeping him out of my office.”

Parsons taking red zone snaps wouldn’t be unprecedented. titans Coach Mike Vrabel starred prominently as a contributor throughout his NFL career (1997-2010), while serving as the tight end of the situation for the patriots. He ended up scoring 10 career touchdowns as part of a red zone package.
