Bo Horvat of the Canucks wants to pay back the sports bettor who lost because of his shooting error
Vancouver Canucks Captain Bo Horvat had a terrible mistake that led to a shootout loss to the Nashville Predators on Saturday night, and a certain sports bettor paid the price for the mistake.
Horvat wants to make up for it.
The Canucks needed a goal with Horvat skating to the puck, but as he looked to clear the goaltender, he lost the puck. According to NHL rulesthe puck has to keep going or it’s dead, so Horvat couldn’t redeem himself.
However, the Predators rushed onto the ice to celebrate his victory as Horvat hung his head in disappointment.
The sports bettor claimed he needed the Canucks to win and lost $91.50, but Horvat wants it back.
“Send me your info,” Horvat replied under an Instagram comment to the sports bettor asking for a refund.
There have been cases where fans have done this, but the athletes usually just shrug it off. Horvat, on the other hand, clearly feels responsible for this, so he’s willing to make up for it.
Horvat had an assist in a 4-3 loss to Nashville while collecting three shots on goal.
In the shootout, it was Elias Pettersson who had the first crack at Predators goaltender Juuse Saros and was unable to find the back of the net. But Mikael Granlund couldn’t get past Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko on the next few attempts.
JT Miller had his attempt blocked by Saros, while Matt Duchene picked up the only goal of the shootout. Horvat’s tries followed and the Predators rejoiced.
Vancouver walked away with a point for the shootout, but fell to 3-6-3 on the season. Nashville is now 5-6-1 on the year.
