Rangers fan wins a car after shooting at center ice
And you get a car, and you get a car.
The Rangers lost to the islanders on Tuesday night at the Garden, but at least one of his fans came away a winner. Ryan Rosado of Bloomfield, NJ incredibly hit a shot from center ice through a puck-sized opening and into the net to win a 2023 Hyundai Tucson SUV.
He also took home an autographed Mika Zibanejad stick.
“My whole body was so numb I couldn’t feel anything,” the 30-year-old told The Post. “I think the puck bounced off a patch of snow and went in. I almost passed out when I saw it.”
Ironically, Rosado, who was selected for the contest after his sister, Kayla, refused to go on the ice for the tryout, missed his first shot, which was from the blue line and for $500 . He also said he had trouble seeing to the goal because he left his glasses at home and the arena was dark.
Rosado played hockey in high school and has a tattoo of the Rangers with flames around it, showing his passion.
“I’m getting friend requests from a lot of people,” he said.
The timing couldn’t have been better either. Rosado, who said he is starting a paint business, added that he currently drives a rusty 2006 Infiniti with 204,000 miles and high repair costs.
“That was a blessing for me,” he said. “I really needed a new car.”
It was also the second to be delivered in four days at MSG. On Saturday, a fan won a Kia by hitting a midcourt shot during the third quarter of the Knicks’ game against the Celtics.
The home team lost on both occasions, but we’re sure neither of the fans did.
