What do Arizona coyotes want to build on their proposed sand site?

The owners of the Arizona Coyotes are waiting to see if the City of Tempe, and then most likely Tempe residents — will approve a new field and a large mixed-use development.
Although the project has been talked about for more than a year, the city of Tempe made public plans for the Tempe Entertainment District (TED) earlier this week. The city’s Development Review Board will consider zoning changes that would be needed to develop the project during a Nov. 15 meeting. The documents detail what will be built and why it would need rezoning.
The project will be built on 46 acres at the northeast corner of Priest Drive and Rio Salado Parkway, just south of the Salt River. The site is currently a landfill.
