Jackson-Davis leads No. 12 Indiana to rout Miami (Ohio)

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Nationals senior center Trayce Jackson-Davis scored nine of his game-high 17 points for No. 12 Indiana, which closed the first half on a 22-6 run to win by Hoosier Classic by 86-56. Sunday in Miami (Ohio).

The Hoosiers were clinging to a 21-20 lead with 7:43 left when Jackson-Davis hit an alley-oop dunk. Tamar Bates added another, then Jackson-Davis converted a three-point play.

“We’re lucky to have him down there just because he brings a lot of attention to himself,” Bates said of Jackson-Davis. “He’s executing at a high level right now, and that’s what we expect from him.”

Indiana (4-0) led 43-26 at halftime, a margin that grew to 34 at one point in the second half.

“You want to send all the cavalry at him,” Miami coach Travis Steele said of Jackson-Davis. “He’s a monster down there. And he can make you pay with a pass. He’s seen double teams his whole life.”
