Three Hamilton College athletes have been selected to the 2022 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) football team.
Joseph Campanello ’26 (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan HS) made the first team on special teams as a returner. Mark Hourigan ’24 (St. Albans, VA/Bellows Free Academy) is a tight end in the other team’s offense and Aidan French ’23 (Larchmont, NY/Mamaronek HS) joins Hourigan on the second team as a forward. All three are making the all-conference team for the first time.
Campanello returned eight kickoffs for 197 yards. His average of 24.63 yards per return led the NESCAC. His longest punt return was 52 yards at Tufts University on October 29.
Hourigan started all nine games and finished with 43 catches for 452 yards and one touchdown. He was seventh in the conference in receptions per game and 14th in receiving yards per game. Hourigan was named the NESCAC Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 26 following a 24-10 victory against Amherst College. He blocked one punt and picked off a runner before they could get a first down on a fake punt attempt against the Mammoths.
The French started all nine games with a tackle. He didn’t allow a sack and helped the Continentals average over 100 yards per game.
