Cardinals fire assistant coach Sean Kugler after he allegedly groped a woman in Mexico City, reports say

The Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury announced that he has relieved offensive line coach/running back coordinator Sean Kugler Arizona Republic on Tuesday.

Coogler was fired after the incident in Mexico City on Sunday. According to ESPN, Coogler allegedly groped a woman. Mexican authorities have reportedly been notified of the incident and have alerted the Cardinals to the situation. Coogler was then relieved of his duties and sent home on a Monday morning flight.

“We relieved him of duty and he was sent home Monday morning before the game,” Kingsbury said Bob McManaman. “It’s difficult any time you make personnel changes like that.”

The Cardinals took a trip to Mexico NFL International series, where they lost San Francisco 49ers38-10, on Monday Night Football.

Kugler joined the Cardinals in 2019 as the offensive line coach. The 56-year-old also spent time with Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos. He started playing in the league with Detroit Lions as the tight ends coach in 2001.
