Georgia football maintains the top spot in the College Football Playoff rankings for Week 13

For the third week in a row, Georgia is the No. 1 ranked team in the College Football Playoff. The Bulldogs took care of business this weekend with a 16-6 victory over Kentucky.

It wasn’t the most impressive performance from Georgia, but No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Michigan and No. 4 TCU battled and won in Week 12. The top 4 in the College Football Playoff rankings remain unchanged.

The big mover is USC, which moved up to No. 5 after beating No. 18 UCLA. Tennessee dropped to No. 10 after losing to South Carolina.

Georgia will face Georgia Tech this week in a rivalry game that Georgia coach Kirby Smart anticipates will be physical. The Yellow Jackets defeated North Carolina last week and will play in the championship game this week in Athens.

“They played really hard. And they did a great job defensively,” Smart said. “They always have — you know, Tech has a good staff. And the guys there know football and you see the kids play with a lot more passion and energy. They’re one game away from bowl eligibility, and you saw that play out in the game against UNC.”

After the Georgia Tech game, the Bulldogs will see another College Football Playoff participant as the Bulldogs will represent the SEC East in the SEC Championship Game. The representative office of “Zahad” shopping center is LSU No. 6. The Tigers take on Texas A&M this week in College Station, Texas.

There will be two more sets of College Football Playoff rankings this season, with the final set on Dec. 4 determining which four teams will make the College Football Playoff. We should get some clarity at the top of the rankings this week when Ohio State visits Michigan. USC also hosts Notre Dame and TCU hosts Iowa State.

Georgia vs. Georgia Tech is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. in Athens. The game will be televised on ESPN. It will also be senior day for the Bulldogs.
