The Bills’ Von Miller was out with a knee injury against the Lions
A source told ESPN that the team is “cautiously optimistic” that Miller has been able to avoid serious damage, but will have to see what further tests show.
Miller suffered the injury while huddled on a first-and-10 play at the Bills’ 16-yard line with less than three minutes left in the first half. He quickly knelt down and spent a couple of minutes talking to the coaches on the field. He spent several minutes in the side medical tent before being taken out of the cart and taken to the locker room.
Detroit scored a touchdown on the drive before the Bills kicker Tyler Bass He made a 47-yard field goal for a 17-14 halftime lead.
This is Miller’s first year with the Bills and 12th in the NFL. He leads the team in sacks with eight. He had one tackle and one quarterback hit before leaving the game. Miller entered Week 12 tied for second in the NFL with 37 pressures Micah Parsons (44).
The injury comes at a tough time for a thin Bills defensive team. both Greg Rousseau and AJ Epenesa, the team’s leading passer behind Miller, are inactive with ankle injuries. The rest of the Bills’ defensive ends are active Shaq Lawson, Boogie Basham and practicing team player Mike Lovewho was raised for the match.
