End played its first true road game of the season Wednesday night Florida. Some speculated that this would be the Husky’s first real test. It wasn’t; rather, it was another easy win for the Huskies. Dan Hurley’s squad shot 51.7% from the field, 36.8% from 3-point range and 88.9% from the free throw line in a 75-54 victory that pushed the Huskies to 10-0. All 10 wins were by double digits, including 82-67 Alabama and a 71-53 win over Iowa Stateboth of which are ranked.

“They came out on the road and fell on us,” the Florida big man said Colin Castleton, who missed 10 of the 14 shots he took in a 21-point loss. Meanwhile, UKB is big Adam Sanoga and Donovan Klingon combined to go 16-of-22 from the field for 33 points and 15 rebounds.

“Depth is key to who we are,” Hurley said. “Obviously the identity is defense and dominating the backcourt… But we can play a slow game, an uptempo game. We can play big. We can play small. And depth is what makes it all whole. the case is working.”

UConn remains No. 4 in the updated Thursday morning CBS Sports Top 25 and No. 1 daily college basketball rankings — and if you want to argue that the Huskies should be higher, hey, I hear you. They’ve more or less beaten five straight KenPom top-50 teams to move into second place in the NET rankings and tie Purdue for the most wins in Quadrant 1 with three. They’re great, no doubt about it – but that’s how it is HoustonPurdue and Virginia, each also undefeated with strong computer numbers. So I’ve just decided to keep the Houston-Purdue-Virginia-UConn order in the top 25 and 1 until one of those teams loses.

Which is guaranteed to happen soon!

That’s because Houston plays at Virginia next weekend, so one of them will suffer a loss then. As for Purdue and UConn, it might take a while to be honest. KenPom currently projects Purdue as the favorite in each of the next 14 games, while UConn is now projected as the favorite in literally every game between now and Selection Sunday.
