Kyler Murray responds to Patrick Peterson’s criticism: It doesn’t affect me
Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray He was “super impressed” with his former teammate Patrick Peterson“Kyler Murray doesn’t care about anyone but Kyler Murray,” he says. After his criticism of Murray caused an uproar, the Vikings cornerback said he got Murray’s phone number from a teammate and texted him, but Murray didn’t answer.
Murray admitted he received the text, but said it was only after Peterson made his public comments.
“Hell,” Murray said not responding to the text “what’s that going to do?”
The Cardinals are 4-8, and Murray ranks 23rd in the NFL with an 87.1 passer rating. He has 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Murray has become a lightning rod for critics this season.
“Our season has not gone the way we wanted, so it comes a little heavier” Murray said, via Darren Urban of the team’s website.
But Murray said it’s nothing new because his size made him a target his entire career, and his contract situation this offseason opened another debate. Was the five-year, $230.5 million contract worth it?
Murray insists he doesn’t hear the noise.
“You understand the position you’re in, what it entails, what you have to deal with,” Murray said. “I’m not really new. Something I’ve dealt with, not my whole life, but most of my life having to deal with things like this. It doesn’t affect me.”
