Armando Broy was taken off on a stretcher during the friendly against Chelsea with a suspected knee injury

Chelsea forward Armando Broy was carried off the field on a stretcher in a friendly match against Aston Villa due to a suspected knee injury.

Broia, 21, fell in the 19th minute of the match in Abu Dhabi when he tried to clear the ball and collided with Ezri Consa.

He appeared to be in a lot of pain as he held his right knee and was eventually substituted after a lengthy stoppage in the game.

Broy’s extended spell out would be news to Chelsea head coach Graham Potter as he leaves the club with Kai Havertz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the only option in the #9 role.

Brodge has made 18 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions this season, scoring once and providing an assist. He was primarily limited to his role on the team, however, starting only two games in the lineup Major league.

He came close to leaving the club this summer after spending last season on loan Southamptonbut although he was associated with moving to West Ham Unitedhe ultimately decided to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea continue their preparations for a return to the Premier League after World Cup.

Potter’s side face Bournemouth December 27.
