Trailing 24-12 with 1:39 left, the Packers had first-and-goal at the Rams’ 1-yard line Monday night and opted to kneel three times to end the game rather than score another touchdown. Packers coach Matt LaFleur said that’s what he’ll always do in that situation.

“I didn’t think about that. I think there is a way to manage winning in this league. I have a lot of respect for those guys that we’re competing against,” LaFleur said.

It was pointed out to LaFleur that point differential is one of the playoff tie breakers, but LaFleur responded that a playoff tie is not something he thinks about in a game. He also said he wasn’t bothered by the Rams’ use of a timeout late in the game even though there was no chance of a win.

“I knew that was going to be the difference, you definitely do what you have to do, but I think there’s karma in that, and I don’t want to dwell on it, and I’ve got it too. big respect to them,” LaFleur said. “I’m not worried about that.”

The ones who were worried about that were those who bet on the total points in Monday night’s game: The over/under was 39.5 points, which is the under-hit, but the over-hit if the Packers had scored another touchdown.
