Stafford has some financial incentives to keep playing. The Rams were awarded a four-year, $160 million contract extension last offseason.

The money in the deal is guaranteed for injuries, according to the NFL Network.

Stafford isn’t the only major Rams player to deal with injuries in 2022.
Star receiver Cooper Kupp, who was named last season’s Super Bowl MVP, underwent surgery in November after suffering a severe ankle sprain. Kupp has been rejected the rest of the season.
Defensive lineman Aaron Donald has not played since injuring his ankle in Week 12 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
