UCLA Football Commit Dante Moore won MVP at the All-American Bowl
In his first game since being traded to the Bruins in December, Dante Moore had a great showing on the national stage.
The UCLA football player took center stage at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio on Saturday, securing MVP honors thanks to his high performance. The quarterback from Martin Luther King Jr. High School (Michigan) led the East team to a dominant 55-17 victory over the West team, edging out dozens of other top recruits to receive the most praise of all.
Moore had four touchdowns, three of which came in the first half. He finished the game with 156 yards on 14-of-19 passing, giving him a 212.1 rating on the day.
In addition to his gaudy numbers, Moore has been praised for his ability to change his arm angle under pressure and tear apart a secondary comprised of the nation’s top college freshmen.
Moore has long been ranked as the No. 1 recruit in the nation by Sports Illustrated and is a five-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite. Not only is the Michigan native UCLA’s top-rated recruit since coach Chip Kelly arrived in 2017, but he’s also their top-rated offensive tackle in program history.

Moore had previously been verbally committed to Pac-12 rival Oregon for months, but the combination of the Ducks losing their offensive coordinator and the Bruins making their way into the Big Ten made the top quarterback rethink his plans. As soon as the early signing period rolled around, he made it official by signing a National Letter of Intent with UCLA.
There were eight top prospects who announced their verbal commitments in San Antonio on Saturday, and while the Bruins didn’t walk away with any of them, the team still ended the day as one of the clear winners at the event thanks to Moore’s star. doing performance.
In accordance with Los Angeles Times, Moore will arrive in Westwood on Sunday and begin classes on Monday. Moore’s first spring camp won’t begin until late March or early April, but he’s already a strong contender to succeed Dorian Thompson-Robinson as UCLA’s next starting quarterback.
