Surtain Sr. was an All-Pro cornerback in the NFL (Miami Dolphins 1998-2004, Kansas City Chiefs 2005-08), he was the head coach at Broward County power American Heritage High School from 2016-2021, and he is the father of one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks, Patrick Serten II.
