MLB wife appears in new Peacock reality TV show ‘The Traitors’
The wife of a World Series champion is making another appearance on a reality TV competition series.
Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick, the wife of former Major League pitcher Kyle Kendrick, competed in the new series, ‘The Traitors,’ which will air exclusively on Peacock.
Kyle Kendrick made 30 starts for the Phillies’ pitching rotation in the club’s 2008 World Series-winning season. Kyle was a member of the Phillies for eight years (2007-2014), posting an ERA under 4.00 four different times.
The Phillies won the National League East five straight times (2007-2011) during Kyle’s tenure with the club and boasted a dominant pitching rotation with a mix of Cole Hamels, Roy Halladay, Pedro Martinez, Roy Oswalt, Cliff Lee, Joe Blanton and Kyle. .
Kyle’s wife Stephenie, whom he has been married to since November 2010, competed in three seasons of surviving between 2005 and 2010.
Stephenie became an instant fan favorite in her first season, Survivor: Palace, when his “Ulong” tribe lost all immunity challenges and outlasted his entire tribe. As a tribe of one, it was absorbed by the opposing tribe of Koror. Stephenie was immediately returned, along with fellow tribemate Bobby Jon Drinkard, by survivingnext season, Survivor: Guatemala. It was the first time contestants returned the following season to play with a group of new castaways.
Stephenie took second place Survivor: Guatemalathen competed in the 20th season of the franchise, Survivor: Heroes vs. villains in 2010.
Stephenie had not competed in a reality TV series since, until she came out of retirement, appearing on USA Network’s ‘Snake in the Grass’. Stephenie competed alongside Big Brother winner Rachel Reilly Villegas and Survivor icon Cirie Fields. All three will compete together again, this time in ‘The Traitors’.
‘The Traitors’ places 20 people in a castle in Scotland. The cast consists of ten contestants who have appeared on reality television before, and ten newcomers. Three of the 20 contestants are “traitors”. The other 17 are “faithful”. Each night, the traitors “kill” one of the faithful, removing him from the game. The faithful must try to find out who the traitors are. Before someone is killed each night, the cast meets and votes to kick someone out of the castle. The faithful try to banish the traitors, while the traitors try not to blow their cover.
Meanwhile, traitors and loyalists compete in a series of challenges to increase the prize pool.
Stephenie recently visited Jack Vita show with Rachel Reilly to talk about her time on “Snake in the Grass” and a preview of “The Traitors.”
Last fall, after coming up short in each of her first four appearances on reality TV, Stephenie told me she feels like she should finally win.
“I’m 42 (years old),” Stephenie said. “I think I’ve got up to 65 to really win here. I’m in shape. Things will run like a well-oiled machine here at Kendrick’s house, so if I have to go again to try to win something, I can. So call me, because I want to win.”
It turns out that he did, in fact, leave again. Catch ‘The Traitors’ at Peacock to see if he finally gets that win.
