Russell Gage leaves the Cowboys-Bucs game in the hospital after suffering a scary blow to the head and neck
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wide receiver Russell Gage sat out Monday’s playoff game Dallas Cowboys at the back after a scary injury at the end of the game. He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation for a concussion and a neck injury.
Cowboys safety Donovan Wilson He made contact with Gage’s head after an incomplete pass late in the fourth quarter. Gage fell to the back after the pass, and Wilson chased after him, snapping Gage’s head forward. Wilson wasn’t looking at Gage’s head. He had already committed to fighting Gage when he fell.
Gage appeared to try to get up from the blow, but was unable to. He lay on his back. Players from both teams surrounded Gage as he was treated by medical personnel. After several moments, trainers placed Gage on a backboard and eventually lifted him onto a cart, where he was carted off the field.
The game resumed after Gage left the field on Monday 31-14 Cowboys won.
Bucs coach Todd Bowles told reporters that Gage was taken to a local hospital and was being evaluated for a concussion and a neck injury. According to Bowles, he had finger movements on the field.
Gage was initially questionable before Monday’s game after injuring his back on a touchdown catch in Week 18.
