A year ago, no one knew that Saints coach Sean Payton and the Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady They were trying to join forces with the dolphins. Eventually the word got out and the shit hit the fan base and yada yada yada the Dolphins have no first round chance in 2023.

Now that Brady is set to become a free agent in March and Payton is drawing interest from multiple teams, could Brady and Payton land on the same team next season?

Four teams are interested in Payton: Broncos, Cardinals, Texans and Panthers. The first two have quarterbacks with massive contracts. The Texans need a lot more than Brady to be competitive.

Enter the Panthers. The last to officially join behind Payton, Carolina has a very good defense, very good receivers, a solid running game, and an offensive line good enough to get it all going.

They also have a great coach and an owner who has been desperate for a franchise quarterback. Even if Brady was a short-term option, he would fill the stadium and create a lot of excitement.

Also, the NFC South right now is simply not good. The Panthers would immediately become the favorite to win the division. They could fatten up their record enough to become one of the top seeds, especially with a schedule rotation that will see them face teams from the AFC South and NFC North in 2023.

The Payton-Brady duo (Payton just kidding last month on Brady’s podcast about that possibility) would also send a massive middle finger to 345 Park Avenue. In 2012, the league suspended Payton for one season due to trump-up awards charges. Six years ago, the league suspended Brady for four games on air pressure charges. And with an attempt to reunite costing Miami a first-round pick in 2022, it would surely cause shock and dismay at league headquarters if it finally happened.

It makes a lot of sense, and it’s hidden in plain sight. We will find out in the coming weeks whether it happens or not.
