DeMeco Ryans hoped to have a second interview with the Houston Texans

According to NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Houston Texans a second interview has been arranged the 49 DeMeco Ryans defensive coordinator. They say that he has emerged as the main candidate for the job and that there is mutual interest and that if all goes well, he could be the next coach.

So all the positive news about the Ryans and Broncos in the last 24 to 48 hours is not good right now. We knew the Texans were the Broncos’ competition for Ryans, but this report seems to indicate that they are the favorites for Ryans.

So where does this leave the Broncos? Of course, they will still try Ryansen, but as of now, they STILL have not scheduled second interviews with the candidates. Now it’s a dwindling list of candidates. Dan Quinn is back for the Cowboys, Sean Payton doesn’t seem as likely as earlier in the week (that could change things) and that leaves Jim Caldwell, Ejiro Evero, David Shaw and Raheem Morris as candidates.

We’ll see if the Broncos set up a second interview with Ryans. we had one A Houston-based report earlier today said the Broncos were “intended” to sign Ryansbut this report seems to raise some doubts.

This Broncos coaching search has been a rollercoaster from the start and continues to be so as we move forward. Meanwhile, all is quiet on the Broncos front as other teams make their coaching hires and hold secondary interviews with finalists.
