It was 1986 Boston Celtics best team ever? According to some of their peers and legends in their own right, they indeed were, or at least should be counted among them. The team, coached by the Boston legend KC Jones, was led by the “Big Three” of Celtics Hall of Famers Larry Bird, Robert Parish, and Kevin McHale with Bill Walton, Dennis Johnson and Danny Ainge as well.

The Celtics won 67 games (Boston’s second-best regular season record) while Bird earned his third and final MVP award, with Walton earning Sixth Man of the Year honors for his elite play from the bench

The title, Boston’s 16th and its penultimate at the time of writing, capped off one of the most impressive full-season displays of dominance seen in NBA history.
