Crystal Palace hope Zaha can return in February despite hamstring injury

Crystal Palace hope Wilfrid Zaha could return to action in February after the forward suffered a hamstring injury.

Zaha, 30, was forced off in the second half of the goalless draw with Palace. Newcastle United last Saturday.

Palace manager Patrick Vieira admitted after the game that the injury “didn’t sound like good news” and the forward is set to miss some important matches for his club.

However, given Zaha’s speedy recovery from injury, there is hope that he could return to action in February and possibly even three weeks from now.

Now Zaha is recovering in Dubai with her family.

Still, the news will come as a blow to Vieira, especially ahead of a tough February schedule that includes games against Manchester United, Brentford and Liverpoolas well as a derby with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Zaha did not miss Major league match for Palace this season.

The forward is in the final six months of his contract at Selhurst Park and could leave the club on a free transfer in the summer. He played a total of 450 times for the club, scoring 89 goals.
