Pistons unable to leave Dallas after playing Mavericks due to weather and plane issues: Sources

The Detroit Pistons they are stuck in dallas until at least wednesday, the day they are scheduled to play the Washington Wizards in Detroit, team sources said The Athletic.

The Pistons faced the Mavericks on Monday night, but were unable to leave after the game due to a plane issue and the weather in Dallas. Weather and logistical issues on Tuesday forced Detroit to sit on the tarmac for hours before getting off the plane and making a safety decision to stay an extra night in Texas.

One would assume that the N.B.A will reschedule Wednesday’s matchup between the Pistons and the Wizards since Detroit, if the weather improves Wednesday morning, would not get home until a few hours before tipoff.

The Dallas area is experiencing “hazardous weather conditions” with a chance of freezing rain Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The Pistons lost 111-105 to the Mavericks on Monday. after Luka Dončić scored 53 points. Detroit is 13-39 and in 15th place in the Eastern Conference with their next home games scheduled against Hornets on Friday and alone on Saturday.
