Report: Tom Brady told confidants it was Bucs or retirement in 2023

An interesting tidbit inside Tom Brady, the pride of Pinellas County, Jeff Darlington on ESPN radio this morning.
Darlington has long been recognized as the lone reporter with legitimate personal ties to the Brady camp.
Brady’s public retirement around 8am this morning, Darlington went on BSPN radio and the Bucs broke the news around 6am and Darlington added this gem. He said Brady told those close to him that if he played in 2023, “it was either the Bucs or he was going to retire.”
Darlington admitted that some close to Brady didn’t believe it, but it was true.
Which makes Joe wonder how the Bucs approached Brady’s status for 2023 in recent weeks. It appears that Brady told Jason Licht and Team Glazer that he would play with them if they decided to play.
Did that factor into the offensive coordinator interviews? The Bucs were reportedly asking several candidates how they would build an offense for Brady.
