Although the Poles scored the first points in the semi-final, after a few minutes the French basketball players led 8:2. The French continued their excellent start. Vincent Collet’s players did not allow the Polish national team to score easy points and after the first ten minutes they led 15:9.
In the second half, the Polish team continued to not find ways to attack the French basket. The French, who did not miss 10 points in the quarter again, entered the second half of the game with a 34:18 lead.
In the third quarter, the Polish national team managed to score as many points as in the first half – 18. However, the improved attack did not save the Poles. V. Collet’s pupils started to have fun in the attack and finally went into the decisive half with a 64:36 lead.
In the last half, the image was more reminiscent of training videos. The French created free throws both from the penalty area and from long range and celebrated the victory with a difference of 41 points! 95:54.

The French entered the playoffs after taking 3rd place in Group B. In the round of 16, the French national team beat the Turks 87:86 after extra time, and in the quarter-finals they again beat the Italians 93:85 after extra time.
The Polish team took 3rd place in Group D. In the round of 16, the Poles defeated the Ukrainians 94:86, and in the quarterfinals they unexpectedly defeated the former European champions – the Slovenians – 90:87.
The German and Spanish national teams will meet in the next semi-final. The final and the fight for 3rd place will take place on Sunday.
