From the liberated city – the first video: Glory to Ukraine!

The published material shows a column of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine walking along a village road, greeted by local residents.

“Glory to Ukraine! Thank you!” local residents addressed the soldiers.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said in his daily video address to his compatriots on Sunday that two villages in the south of the country and another settlement in the east have been recaptured, but he did not name them.

At that time, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, the deputy head of V. Zelenskiy’s administration, posted a photo on Twitter showing the Ukrainian flag raised in Vysokopilya. The northern part of the Kherson region, where this settlement is located, is almost entirely controlled by Russian forces.

Vysokopilya was occupied in March, and in June the settlement found itself close to the front line when Ukrainian forces launched an offensive in that part of the country.

Ukraine’s southern headquarters said its forces were working to disrupt Russia’s “control of troop movement and logistics” with airstrikes and artillery fire.

Moscow forces invaded Ukraine on February 24 from the north, south and east. After failing to capture the capital Kyiv in the first weeks of the war, they withdrew from the northern part of the country and concentrated their efforts on attacking in the southern and eastern directions.
