Skvernelis: Survila’s becoming deputy minister shows that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a big problem

According to him, the fact that Jonas Survila, who works as an adviser to the prime minister, will become the new vice minister of foreign affairs allows us to say that.

“Mr. Survila’s becoming deputy minister shows that there is a huge problem in that ministry, because it is the gray cardinal of the conservative party, the strategist, who is thrown into such a front. Apparently, it is one of the weakest links to save the chairman of the party”, said S. Skvernelis to “Žinių radio”.

However, according to him, the changes in the minister’s team will not have a significant impact on the work of those in charge.

“The main performers in this orchestra are the ministers, and because of the ministers, we see that no matter what happens, there are no changes,” said S. Skvernelis, who has repeatedly called on the prime minister to renew the Cabinet of Ministers.

“(In the government – ELTA) Olympic peace, summer silence, everything is going great,” the chairman of the Democratic Union “Vardan Lietuvos” quipped.

Last week, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that since the fall, Deputy Ministers J. Survila and Jovita Neliupšienė and the minister’s press representative Paulina Levickytė have joined G. Landsbergis’ political team. Also, the political director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė, will start her work.
