The boss of “Panathinaikos” has bitten the former power of the Euroleague: it will not be difficult to surpass it

Long overdue changes have taken place in the management of the Euroleague – Jordi Bertomeu has been replaced by Dejan Bodiroga as the president of the tournament.

The owner of Athens “Panathinaikos” was also happy with the takeover of the Serbian leaders Dimitris Giannakopoulos.

“Usually changes are for the better. I hope that Dejan Bodiroga can level up and make history like he did while playing. Of course, it is still early to say something, but the outgoing government did not do much, so it will not be difficult to improve the situation. But we have to wait and see,” said the Greek.

His relationship with the previous managers of the Euroleague was not good – D. Giannakopoulos repeatedly expressed his public indignation and paid thousands in fines.

The Greek hopes that the new leaf opened will bring a different era of the EuroLeague.

“I wish success to all members of the new management. As clubs, we have to support them so that they support us and create a better product compared to the last 20 years,” he assured.

“Panathinaikos” took the thirteenth place in the last Euroleague season with 9 wins and 19 losses. Having strengthened themselves in the summer, the Greeks will begin their new journey with the October 6 match against Real Madrid.
