Ravil Maganov, chairman of the board of directors of oil company Lukoil, died after falling from the window of the Moscow Central Clinical Hospital, reports the Russian state agency Interfax.

According to the source of the Russian business daily RBK and the police, R. Maganovas fell through the hospital’s high-rise window.

Lukoil was one of the few large Russian companies that called for an end to the war in Ukraine, after Moscow sent troops to its neighbor in the summer.

At that time, Lukoil’s board called for an immediate end to the fighting and expressed condolences to those affected by the tragedy.

R. Maganovas was born in 1954. Since 1980, he worked for Lukoil’s predecessor, Langepasneftegaz, during his career in the concern he held various high-ranking positions: from 1993 was a member of the board of directors, since 2006. as his first vice president. He headed the board of directors since 2020.

Not the first strange death

This is the latest case of the death of the company’s strategic managers.

In July, Yuri Voronov, the head of the logistics company Astra Shipping, which has an agreement with Gazprom in the Arctic region, was found in the swimming pool of a villa near St. Petersburg with a wool hood over his head.

In April, the former Vice President of Gazprombank, Vladislav Avayev, his wife and daughter’s sons were found in a Moscow apartment, all three of them with woolen clothes.

The relatives of Novatek chief manager Sergej Protosenia, his wife and daughter were also found in Spain.

Alexander Subbotin, head of Lukoil, died under strange circumstances near Moscow in May.
