The Latvian who did not fit in “Neptun” moves to Spain

Trained in Lithuania last season Tom Leimanis found a new career stop.

The Latvian, who played for Klaipėda Neptun, is moving to Madrid Estudiantes, who sold Dovydas Giedraitis to Kaunas Žalgiris this summer.

Madrid clubs compete in the second division of Spain, but hope to return to the top division.

T.Leimanis joined the Klaipėda club at the start of the last season and collected 3.7 points (11 percent three-pointers), 1.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.5 utility points in 19 minutes.

The 28-year-old 190 cm tall defender has already played in Spain when he defended the honor of the Valladolid team, during his career he has also represented the teams of his native Latvia, Estonia, Greece, Belarus, Ukraine and Lithuania.

“Long break”: Wolves’ purchases, a skeptical look at “Neptuna”, the collapse of “Labas GAS”, rumors about “Rita”, the unexpected departure of Staniulis and the capacity of “Lietkabelis”
