The LFF is resorting to changing its statutes: the federation’s managers will have to meet the reputation requirements of FIFA and UEFA

The project, among other changes, provides for the opportunity for Lithuanian high-quality football clubs (Optibet A League, Optibet First League, LFF II League, Spark Energy Women’s A League, Futsal A League) to directly delegate their representatives to the LFF Conference.

Also, it is proposed to elect the president and vice-presidents of the organization, the members of the Executive Committee and the Ethics Commission at the Conference. Finally, it aims to require that all elected LFF managers meet the reputational requirements set out in the directives of international football organizations FIFA and UEFA.

During the meeting, it was confirmed that the next meeting of the Special Group will be organized live at the beginning of October, during the visit of FIFA and UEFA experts to Lithuania. Meetings with Lithuanian politicians and representatives of responsible institutions are planned during this visit.

At the moment, Lithuanian football clubs are preparing a memorandum on the situation in Lithuanian football, during the “Lithuanian Football Forum” to be held on October 16, the proposed management changes will be discussed by the Lithuanian football community and experts. Heads of international football organizations will visit Lithuania in October and November, meetings are planned with the President of Lithuania, the Speaker of the Seimas and the Head of the Government.

Taking into account the received comments and suggestions, a draft of the statutes will be prepared, which must be harmonized with the international football federations FIFA and UEFA, comply with all legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania, discussed in the Lithuanian football community and with interested institutions. The final decision on the statutes will be taken during the extraordinary General Conference of the Lithuanian Football Federation.

In order to improve the organization’s operational practices, the Federation, by the decision of the Executive Committee, created a special working group at the end of the summer, in which experts from FIFA and UEFA work with LFF representatives. LFF president Tomas Danilevičius has been appointed as the head of the working group, and the general secretary of LFF will work in the working group Edgar Stankevičius and the president of the A League Jan Nevoina and FIFA and UEFA experts.
