Ukrainian intelligence: Russia is preparing a provocation at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant today

The Main Intelligence Board of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announces about it: “Additional confirming information was received about the occupiers’ preparation for provocations at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant on August 19. Licensed personnel (performing their functions under the license of the State Atomic Inspection) are instructed to stay at home. Only a small part of operational personnel will be allowed into the territory of the power plant”.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, there were no representatives of Rosatom at the evening meeting of the Zaporizhia leadership on August 18, who had actively participated in all meetings since the moment of the occupation.

Intelligence claims that Rosatom representatives have left the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant altogether.

“Considering how many weapons are currently on the territory of the power plant, as well as occasional provocative shootings, there is a high probability that a large-scale terrorist act is being planned at the nuclear facility,” the intelligence of the Russian Ministry of Defense assures.

Several powerful explosions have occurred in the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in recent days. However, accusations continue from both sides, LNK reported.

Russia’s Defense Ministry has said it will completely shut down the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant if Ukraine continues its alleged attacks on it. Ukrainian President V. Zelenskiy once again demanded the withdrawal of Russian forces, and in the country itself preparations are being made for the worst-case scenarios – exercises are being held to simulate a nuclear accident.

“The Russian military must withdraw from the nuclear power plant and all adjacent territories, as well as withdraw its military equipment without any conditions. Ukraine is ready to ensure adequate control on behalf of the IAEA. And the mission to the power plant can be legally sent very quickly and effectively,” said V. Zelenskis.

The Russian occupiers are taking their equipment out of occupied Enerhodar

The Russian occupiers are taking their equipment out of the occupied Enerhodar in the Zaporizhia region.

Telegram channel “Energodar segodnia” reports about it.

It is noted that Russian equipment is moving to the nearest villages. The reasons for such actions of the occupiers are unknown.

“The equipment is directed to the nearest villages. Why is not yet clear. Maybe it’s just a performance to show that Russia has demilitarized the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant,” the report states.
