“You and Grandpa Reunited”

On Monday, the Queen’s grandson, Prince Harry, issued a public statement in which he had sensitive words for his grandmother.

The statement was reportedly released on Monday and not earlier out of respect for the events of 9/11.

“As we celebrate the life of my grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen, and mourn her death, we all remember that she was a compass to many of us in her commitment and service. She was admired and respected by the whole world. Her unwavering grace and dignity remained true throughout her life and is now her eternal legacy.

Let me repeat the words she spoke after the death of her husband, Prince Philip. Words that now bring comfort to everyone.

“Life, of course, consists of final partings and first meetings.”

Grandmother, although parting brings great sadness, I am forever grateful to you for the first meetings – from my earliest childhood memories of you, the meetings when you were already my Commander-in-Chief to the first moment you met my beloved wife and hugged your beloved great-grandson.

I cherish these moments with you and many other special moments. You are already missed not only by us, but also by the whole world. As for the first meetings, we pay our respects to my father, who became King Charles III.

Thank you for your dedication to service. Thanks for your solid advice. Thanks for the infectious smile.

We also smile knowing that you and Grandpa are now reunited and may you rest in peace,” he announced.

As the Daily Mail reported, the prince did not have time to say goodbye to the queen. He arrived at Balmoral Palace in Scotland almost an hour and a half after the death of Elizabeth II.
