Kaunas “Zalgiris” team is making plans for the preparation for the new season. Next week, Žalgiris will gather for the first team training.

The fitness and training hall of the “Zalgiris” arena was not empty all summer, but the Kaunas will gather for the first joint training session on August 24.

It is true that almost half of the team will be missing in the first practice. The head coach Kazys Maksvytis and his assistant Evaldus Beržininkaitis work in the Lithuanian national team, where Lukas Lekavičius, Ignas Brazdeikis, Arnas Butkevičius and Tomas Dimša are preparing for the European Championship in September.

Tyler Cavanaugh and Rolandas Šmitas will also represent their national teams, who will arrive in Kaunas in 2 weeks.

Before that, two matches should also be played in Kaunas. The teams of Lublin “Polski Cukier” (Poland) and Rostock “Seawolves” (Germany) are expected here.

After the end of the European Basketball Championship and before the start of the “Betsafe-LKL” championship, the Žalgiris players will test their strength against the Alytus “Wolves” and Riga VEF teams in Kaunas.
