Zelensky outlined his demands: he specified five strict conditions for peace

“Ukraine wants peace. Europe wants peace. The world wants peace. And we saw who is the only one who wants war,” Zelensky said in a pre-recorded video, urging the international community to punish Russia for “crimes of aggression against our state.”

“They talk about negotiations, but they announce military mobilization. They talk about negotiations, but they announce pseudo-referendums in the occupied territories of Ukraine,” said V. Zelenskiy, who was allowed to address the UNGA remotely about the war, after agreeing with the UN member states. “Russia wants war.”

“Humanity and international law are stronger than one terrorist state. Russia will be forced to end this war,” he said.

V. Zelensky demanded that a special UN tribunal “justly punish” Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, including financial sanctions, and deprive Moscow of its veto power in the Security Council, Reuters reports. “Russia should pay for this war with its own wealth,” he said.

The president of Ukraine outlined five, according to him, non-negotiable peace conditions. Among them are the punishment of Russia for aggression, the restoration of security and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and security guarantees.

V. Zelensky also warned about a possible global nuclear catastrophe, taking into account the situation at the occupied Zaporizhia nuclear power plant.

“Russia’s radiation blackmail is what each of you should care about,” V. Zelenskiy said decisively. “Because none of you will find a vaccine against radiation sickness.”

At the end of the speech, most of the UN delegates gave V. Zelensky a standing ovation.
